Five Schools, Built to Deepen · Vienna Secession
Fifth Vienna Secession Exhibition Poster — Koloman Moser, 1899
Koloman Moser · Vienna Secession exhibition poster (V. Ausstellung), 1899
What it is
Moser’s poster for the Secession’s fifth exhibition, three years before the XIII poster elsewhere in this collection.
Why it matters
A second Moser exhibition poster lets the collection show his graphic language developing across the Secession’s early run, not just at one moment.
What to notice
Tighter, more symmetrical ornament than his later work — the Werkstätte geometry not yet fully arrived.
A movement, still finding its own house style.
