Kaloderma Seife, Gelée, Puder

Ludwig Hohlwein · Jugend: Münchner illustrierte Wochenschrift für Kunst und Leben, Bd. 2, Nr. 22 (1924); advertiser F. Wolff & Sohn, Karlsruhe, 1924

What it is

This is a magazine page, not a street poster: an advertisement for the Kaloderma range of F.

Why it matters

Wolff & Sohn, Karlsruhe, printed in Jugend, the Munich weekly, in issue 22 of 1924 and digitised by Heidelberg University Library. Hohlwein handles a cosmetics advert with the same flat blocked colour he brought to festival and travel posters. Kaloderma remains a trading brand name, so sell the sheet as a historical advertisement rather than as current brand material.

What to notice

Soap, gel and powder sold Hohlwein-style — a full-page advert torn from Jugend, July 1924.

One object, one word, and nothing wasted.
